Four of Wands
A threshold worth marking. Home, team, rite, the first stable room for a fire that had been only travel.
- ELEMENT
- fire
- NUMBER
- Four — container: a garlanded threshold, heat given a house.
- SYMBOLS
- four staves raised as a pavilion, a temporary temple of arrival · a heavy garland of fruit and flowers, celebration that can be walked under · two figures lifting bouquets, welcome as a public act · a castle and a bridge behind, the life this joy is attached to
UPRIGHT
- +celebration that includes the body
- +a structure that holds joy without smothering it
- +found family, found hall
- −a pretty pavilion with no one at home in it
- −ritual used to hide unrest
- −hospitality as performance
- IN LOVE
- A milestone: moving in, meeting the people, a rite. Build a room the bond can return to.
- IN WORK
- A launch party that is also a foundation — studio, team charter, the office that finally feels like a place.
- IN SELF
- You may need a container more than another spark. Let the fire sit down.
REVERSED
The garland is delayed, private, or hollow — a home you cannot enter, a joy you will not host.
- Blocked — the upright current exists and is dammed.
- Internalized — the drama is inner rather than worldly.
Blocked Four of Wands is celebration postponed until the work is 'deserved.' Inner Four is a private threshold, sometimes a secret marriage to a life.
