MAJOR ARCANA · VII
The Chariot
Directed will after the choice. Victory here is not domination of the road; it is two contrary pulls driven as one vehicle.
- ELEMENT
- water
- NUMBER
- Fool's Journey — personality: directed will after the choice. Two sphinxes, one road.
- JOURNEY
- Personality — the first row of the journey
- SYMBOLS
- armor inlaid with signs, the self built for travel · two sphinxes, light and dark, not yet yoked by force but by attention · a canopy of stars over a city left behind · a square on the breast, will housed in a body · a wand held like a rein that is also a question
UPRIGHT
- +focus that can hold contradiction without splitting
- +momentum earned by a decision already made
- +leaving the city because the work is elsewhere
- −winning as a personality
- −running so the sphinxes never have to sit still
- −armor worn at the dinner table
- IN LOVE
- Pursuit with honor. Do not steer the other like a beast; steer yourself so you can arrive together.
- IN WORK
- A campaign, a launch, a passage that needs nerve and a single heading. Check that both sphinxes agreed.
- IN SELF
- Contain the split. Ambition and feeling can share a chariot if you will drive.
REVERSED
The sphinxes pull apart — scattered will — or the armor drives over everything that will not keep up.
- Blocked — the upright current exists and is dammed.
- Excess — the current is overplayed.
Blocked Chariot is stall dressed as strategy. Excess Chariot is speed as anesthesia: if I keep moving, nothing can claim me.
